7 Stories, 2 Novellas: in one volume

The team at Local Time Publishing (publisher me, designer Paul Koeleman, series editor Daniel Stephensen) decided on a single volume for the 7 stories and 2 novellas. 7 stories of magic, romance and fabulation, and Surrealistic Pillow and Pearl of the Orient: 2 novellas of the 60s, will be published soon as 7 Stories, 2 Novellas.

Updating site! New pages for new books!

I’ve been updating this site this morning (coffee and email have also featured). Thanks to web designer Elise Clark-Higham for new book pages under the Books menu (I get to fill them in), in anticipation of new titles soon to be published by the Local Time Publishing Project. Two short prose collections will be next: short stories collected as “7 stories of magic, romance and fabulation”; and 2 novellas set in the 1960s. After that will come a memoir, completed a few years ago, called “Local Time: a memoir of cities, friendships and the writing life”, then my recently completed novel, set in Berlin, called “Ghosts Like Us”.

Writing about not writing

I wrote about not writing to a friend who wants to be able to show this to others. You can find the pdf here. (And I would not say the same today.)

Writing about not writing

Rascal Rain: a year in Papua New Guinea. New edition.

The latest title in the Local Time Publishing series is Rascal Rain, first published in 1994. It tells of a tumultuous year spent in PNG in 1992. As with other titles in this series the new edition has an Afterword written after the first publication. Reception issues were particularly thorny with this one. Go to the Rascal Rain page and/or the Local Time Publishing page on this site. The book and others can be found at Lulu.com http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/inezb as well as at Amazon and other booksellers. Contact me if you want to review.
